Travel to Butte

Butte is located where Interstates 90 (east-west) and 15 (north-south) meet, about half way between Salt Lake City and Calgary (420 and 480 land miles, respectively) and 150 miles northwest of Yellowstone National Park. Butte is about 780 miles from Denver via Interstates 25 and 90, and 320 miles east of Spokane on I-90.

Butte's Bert Mooney Airport is served by Delta/Skywest from Salt Lake City.

Additional air service - from additional gateways including Denver - is available through Bozeman (81 miles from Butte), Helena (65 miles), and Missoula (132 miles). There are no mass-transit options from these cities to Butte; renting a car or sharing a ride are the only options.

Butte's Summit Valley lies about 5550 feet above sea level. Historic Uptown Butte (the "Butte Hill") is about 200 feet higher, and Anaconda is about 200 feet lower. Although June is typically one of the rainiest months, total precipitation is low and snow is possible every month of the year. The average mid-June high-low temperature range is 71ºF to 41ºF.

Montana in general and Butte in particular are casual in terms of dress.
